  4. 3-1/2 c. flour
  5. 1 t. baking soda
  6. 1-1/2 t. ginger
  7. 1-1/2 t. cinnamon
  8. 1 t. cloves
  9. 1/4 t. cardamom
  10.  
  11. 1-1/2 c. butter
  12. 3/4 c. sugar
  13. 1 unbeaten egg
  14. 3/4 c. molasses
  15. 2 t. orange rind
  16. almondsCream butter and add sugar.  Add egg, molasses and rind. 
  17. Stir in dry ingredients.  Chill overnight.  Roll out to 1/4-inch
  18. thickness.  Cut into shapes.  Press almonds into surface.  Bake
  19. at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.  Makes about 2 to 2-1/2 dozen
  20. cookies.  Dough will keep up to 1 week in refrigerator.
